You’ve heard of this palette, yes?
It seems like every blogger and their cat got this in the mail from Urban Decay. After seeing a few beautiful tutorials that looked autumnal and fun, I decided to go for it and splurge a bit to see if the hype was right. You know I’m always straight with you, so let’s dive in.
Unfortunately, I feel that this palette came at the
incorrect time of year because this really feels like summer to me much more than fall and
winter. I do see the benefit in having a
lot of shimmery deep jewel tones in the palette, especially for the upcoming holiday season, but I probably won’t be
rocking many of them without using shadows from other palettes.
The eyeshadows are long-lasting if you apply a
primer. I do find that throughout the day (especially for my oily eyelid peeps)
the shadow wears off, but in a good way. Not in the awkward bottom half has no
eyeshadow and top half has some green eyeshadow remaining but it’s a nice
subtle color over the entire lid. Am I making sense here?
While the colors do feel more summery to me, I absolutely love the color selection because it’s phenomenal. The colors are bright, beautiful and some of the shades I’ve never seen before in any palette and let’s be honest…I have more palettes than I know what to do with – seriously.
This retails at $60 and with its 20 shadows, it is a bargain because you’re getting so many shadows for a low cost ($3/shadow) and the typical price range for one shadow is $19-$21. Overall, it's a great deal but the pigmentation was unfortunately not on par for me.
What did you think of this palette? Do you own it? Have you swatched it?
