SoCal may just be my favorite place in the world, but Huntington Beach specifically...is just something else.
When I landed at LAX, I ran into a friend from college while waiting for my Enterprise rental. In one of the biggest cities in the world, my rental car assistant was a college friend. Small world moments like that really humble me. As soon as I surprised my mom (make sure to watch my vlog) we headed out for lunch. We went to a local Japanese restaurant which is my parents' favorite.
After lunch, I really needed to be on my way to Huntington. If you don't know anything about the 405 South, you should know that from 2 PM to 8 PM, it is packed. Even though I started driving around 2 PM, it took me almost two hours to make my way to Huntington Beach. Gotta love that LA traffic ;)
Lucky for me, I was staying in my favorite hotel: The Shorebreak which is now a Kimpton property. It's such a fantastic hotel that is unlike any other hotel I've ever stayed in because it's got a true beachy, surfer vibe to it which I love. There is a outdoor area which is sunny and lovely to chill with a glass of wine, and the staff is so friendly. This time, I had a beautiful balcony view of the ocean and I was smitten. Everything about this property screams luxury, but the price tag is not outrageous by any means. They even give you a head's up on the tide and how the surf conditions are looking for the day.
Even more lucky for me, our dinner plans were for Watertable. I couldn't believe how beautiful the outside patio was and the view was just so stunning. I didn't think it could get better than this...until it did.
Need I say anything when showing this beautiful image to you? This picture is just incredible. Beautiful colorful candy cane skies, light breeze, wine, excellent company and delicious food. It was incredible and there's just not much more I can ask for in an evening.
Huntington never ceases to amaze me. We even had the quick opportunity to visit the Surf Museum.
Before my quick overnight trip to Huntington ended, I had some quick family time and I even did a mini Q/A sess with my brother, which you can check out in my vlog.
