Mascara is definitely one of those makeup items that even those who claim not to wear makeup, wear. It's a necessity for many of us and it makes a big difference. A little mascara goes a long way, so listen up as I tell you some of my favorite high-end mascaras.
The Too Faced Better Than Sexmascara has been my all-time favorite mascara for years. It's the one I always go to, and I need a new one in my beauty cabinets just in case I ever run out of mascara. The wand is amazing, and the brush perfectly cakes my lashes in a beautifully dramatic and lengthening manner. There's no mascara quite like it. The additional coats make a big difference, so I recommend applying until you're satisfied with the intensity. Luckily, it'll be quick. Three or four coats will do the trick.
Honest Beauty's Truly Lush Mascara + Lash Primer is nice and easy to work with, especially with the primer. I've been a big believer of primer before applying mascara about a year or two ago, and I'm back on the bandwagon now. Priming makes a big long-term difference. It's a non-clumping formulation, which is really nice, and makes lashes so much easier to accomplish. This doesn't give me the intense volume as Too Faced's does, but it's a beautiful more natural lash.
Urban Decay's Perversion Mascara is out of this world. There is nothing that gives me BIG lashes like this one does. This is such a creamy mascara and applies so beautifully. It glides on the lashes, and enhances them with every single swipe. It's insanely powerful and after a few coats my lashes look so good, it's like I have fake lashes on. I adore this stuff, and typically add a coat of this after I've applied my mascara of the day. It's a Perversion coat for good measure ;)
One of my most recent addictions has been the Tarte Tarteist Lash Paint Mascara. The brush makes this mascara so tempting because it enhances the lashes in a natural and clean way. It doesn't cake the mascara on, but rather makes my lashes look nice and tidy. It keeps them dramatic and enhanced. It's excellent with volumizing lashes, which is something I desperately need on mine because they are never intense enough. While this isn't the dramatic effect I mentioned with Too Faced's Better Than Sex, it is still a great mascara.
Now Clinique has a new player in the game. The Lash Power Flutter-to-Full Mascara is a gem, and a surprising contender. This is an innovative way to make a mascara, but essentially you can twist or use the dial to change the brush based on if you want your lash look to be fluttery or extremely voluminous. It's magic. I like the versatility of the mascara, but it is definitely more of a "natural mascara" kind of day because it doesn't really give me the drama I look for on a day to day basis. Still a good mascara, but definitely on the more "natural" side.
Last, but not least, the Makeup Forever Excessive Lash Arresting Volume Mascara is another new favorite. This one reminds me a lot of the Tarte mascara because it's a "neat" application, but gives so much volume. I enjoy using this brush, and this mascara keeps each lash separate so caking this one one is not a possibility. Such a beautiful finish, and makes the lashes look so naturally fluttery and beautiful.
What's your favorite mascara? Did I mention it? I'd love to hear about your fave. I'm planning on decluttering my mascaras next on my channel. What do you think?
