I've talked on and on about the L'Oreal Infallible Pro Matte foundation. It's drugstore so super affordable, with quality that supersedes most luxury foundations. But I've put down the L'Oreal because there's a new foundation in town. Charlotte Tilbury's Magic Foundation retailing at $44. It's significantly more expensive than your average foundation, but it's worth every single penny and that's what I'm here to break down for you today!
This foundation is acceptable for all skin types out there. Younger, more mature, oily, dry, combo... you name it. It gives medium coverage and can be built to full coverage if needed. My favorite quality about this foundation is the fact that it does not get cakey. The formula is perfect. When you apply to the back of your hand before dabbing a brush or beauty blender into the formula, you notice the formula is not runny but also not overly thick in texture. It really is the perfect consistency. It blends smoothly and easily. It is weightless so even though it's buildable to full coverage, your face does not feel like it's being weighed down by product. This is the dewiest, luminous foundation without making me look like a disco ball, which is amazing. If you read my Chanel Vitalumiere review, luxury product or not bottom line is I was not pleased at looking like a grease monkey.
As you know from other skin posts, I have extremely sensitive skin so I worry about using new foundations because it will cover all of my face for hours on end. I've truly enjoyed most products Charlotte comes out with because there's a lot of care for the skin put into consideration. This foundation has anti-aging and protective benefits, similiar to how a luxury face cream would have. The foundation also has SPF 15 so it'll protect from sun minimally throughout the day, which is yet another benefit. This is the only foundation that matches my skin tone perfectly and I've never been able to say that. The color range is magnificent and the shades are truly those of skin, not a tanned illusion of it. While this doesn't last all day, it lasts well throughout the day and I have oily skin.
I am incredibly impressed and cannot recommend this foundation enough to you. As I looked through photos from the past few months, I realized all of my favorite photos include me rocking this foundation. It's beautiful because it makes my skin look flawless and natural.
