If you've been around these parts for a while, you know I grew up in Redondo Beach so I am no stranger to LA. However, on this most recent trip there was so much inspiring me in the city of Angels that I wanted to share.
Architecture. There's skyscrapers, widely known landmarks (like this orange structure) and lots of other noticeable buildings. It's one of the greatest cities in the world housing almost nineteen million people but the architecture gives you that "American dream" vibe because so many businesses are housed within each building.
Food. I'll be the first to admit, I am a foodie. Trying new foods is one of my favorite things to do when I travel. The interesting part is that LA has food from all over the world because it is such a melting pot. Bestia is a new restaurant that's helped the arts district thrive and it's given downtown LA's arts district that up and coming vibe. It's so popular that if you try to book a table today, it'll tell you there isn't a spot open for the next eight weeks. What an incredible treat as the vibe was modern, hip and sophisticated. We ordered the farro salad, calamari and octopus, roasted bone marrow, grilled lamb meatballs, gorgonzola pizza, pappardelle alla carota and the grilled spice pork porterhouse. We finished everything off with coffee and donuts. If you visit Los Angeles and this restaurant has an opening, make sure to grasp the opportunity because it is just incredible! **You will need to have an open mind and be willing to expand your palate, but that's part of the fun!
Art. From the artsy decor of local business signs, to the beautiful walls in malls and throughout downtown there's just so much art to be photographed. You know I'm a big fan of pretty walls, I need them to take photos of outfits ;)
