That Holiday Red Lip Though

Now that the holidays are upon us, I thought I would share my top five red lip products.

During the craze for the Kendall Jenner online only lipstick, I decided to give Estee Lauder a go. I don't gravitate to the brand but given they did their marketing homework and many of us millennials know who Kendall Jenner is, I decided to pick up some of the shades in the new pure color envy sculpting lipsticks. The one I love is called Carnal. These are hydrating and feel lovely. They retail for $30 so this is definitely a treat lipstick, but who doesn't like to treat themselves? I said treat yoself;) This isn't the most long lasting lipstick, but it fades away nicely throughout the day to a less vibrant hue of the shade you're wearing.

The steal of these five is this next one which retails for $6! Palladio Beauty really has a lot of lovely makeup, and doesn't get enough mention in the beauty world which is such a shame. My favorite lipstick of theirs is this herbal lipstick in the shade Pure Red. These smell amazing, and I love the way they feel. I have this illusion of applying velvet to my lips and alongside the smell, it is a divine experience. This is a long-lasting one too...I mean come on you know how I do!

One of my all-time favorite lines is NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencils and more specifically the shade Cruella. I absolutely adore this shade with all of my makeup being; it is that vivacious scarlet and bright red that calls attention to the lips. I love the pencil twist method of this, so I don't have to pull out a stupid sharpener at any point. These are so long lasting, and somehow they manage not to dry out my lips. The full size pencil retails for $26.

An oldie, but still the best goodie is the Sephora Creme Lip Stain in the shade 01 Always Red. While this lipstick is the most long-lasting, it dries quickly so you have very little time to work with it upon application. I would say this lipstick has some slight hues of orange. This retails for $14. You really want to be as precise as possible because it's hard to remove smudges outside your lip line. The amazing thing is that you really don't need a lip liner because this color will stay on all day and night. Seriously... you can eat, drink, dance, kiss and that red will stay on through it all.

Last, but not least, I have a MAC lipstick because we all know any lipstick collection isn't complete with some MAC. This is the quintessential red shade called Russian Red. I absolutely adore MAC lipsticks; they smell intoxicating, they wear well, they look great, the shade range is excellent, the list goes on and on. To me, this is the most perfect shade of red when it comes to the holidays. It's $17 so right in the middle. It's not too bright or scarlet, and it's not a deep red and doesn't have hues of orange. It's just right!

What's your favorite red lipstick?
