I know how much you all love pictures of food ;)
I quite enjoy pictures of flowers and food so Blue Apron in Roanoke gave me quite a few photo opps! They have a lovely website and I was hungry just staring at the menu.
I was sipping on a Sazerac cocktail, which is similar to an old-fashioned but a bit more dry and stronger.
There were quite a few choices which are apparent with their menu. However, I decided to stick to what I know and ordered the rib-eye. I need to remember that rib-eye is not the steak that makes me swoon because it's got a lot of fatty muscle pieces since the cut is from the rib. Those shrimp look scrumptious though!
The dessert was the best part. Just look at that ice cream and chocolate syrup dripping. This is their warm chocolate cake with chocolate ganache and Homestead Creamery ice cream.
The next morning we started off with dessert for breakfast. Who doesn't love a good donut?
For lunch, we had Benny Marconi's which is a thing in Virginia. We ordered four 28 inch pizzas and it's hard to tell how big this pizza is because there's nothing in the picture that offers perspective. I can assure you though, that the pizza barely fit in this camera shot!
After all the meetings that day, we went for a mini walk downtown. The cool thing about a lot of east coast cities is there are indoor walking streets that lead you from certain parts of town to others. I assume this is extremely handy when it's 10 degrees Fahrenheit outside so I applaud them on this great creation.
For dinner that evening, we ended up at Lucky. Our appetizers were clams and also boiled peanuts. I have to admit I tried the clams (they were okay) but the salted peanuts were delicious. Something about the boiling of them makes them even more delicious and just perfectly salty.
This is more of a comfort food type of restaurant which was amazing because I ordered fried chicken. This was definitely some of the most delicious fried chicken I've ever had!
Lots of delicious food so if you're in the area, I would definitely recommend this for a couple of drinks and a delicious comforting meal.
