Even though I live in Arizona (one of the warmer states) I've been feeling that cold chill recently. This usually signals me to change my skin care routine because of the incredibly chilly and drying months ahead.
If you've been around my blog before, I shared my summer skin care favorites so today, we're going to switch things up a bit and talk about products that will replenish and rehydrate the skin. Let's DO THIS!
Clinique's dramatically different moisturizer is my go-to during the day, because it's light and soaks into the skin easily, while keeping my skin hydrated. The technology behind the formulation is to keep moisture in, so this is especially helpful during the cooler months when the moisture is being sucked out of all of our skin.
The e.l.f. lip exfoliator is the best lip scrub I've ever tried, and it's so affordable! I can use it any time, any place and it's not messy. It gets the dry patches off my lips instantly. It tastes delicious, and I'll admit, I've eaten a bit of it off my lips before. It's sweet, infused with Vitamin E, shea butter, avocado, grape and jojoba oils so not only does it taste good, but it leaves my lips so smooth.
Straight from Australia, comes my MV Skin Care rose and soothing moisturizer. It's extremely gentle, smells like the best flowers in the world, and is perfect for dehydrated skin. This is the moisturizer that helped transform my skin. It lightened my acne scars, and smoothed out my face. Truly a fantastic product. My skin usually breaks out, or gets extremely red from new moisturizers but this one has really changed the game for me!
The Pixi beauty sleep cream has the perfect consistency that I strive to find in a moisturizer. It's not too thin and slippery, and it's not too thick and heavy. It's juuuuust right! It absorbs into the skin quickly too, which makes me feel like my skin is absorbing the product. This moisturizer has 100% natural mango butter, lavender, lemon and bergamot oil, so it's extremely moisturizing. This helps to calm my skin down too, which is a huge plus. It helps re-moisturize and rejuvenate the skin while you sleep, which makes it so easy to have beautiful skin in the morning.
The Kiehl's rosa artica moisturizer is fantastic. It smells fresh, and is a thinner consistency than the rest of the moisturizers, but it really helps to rejuvenate dull and dehydrated skin. This one helps to reduce aging (lines, wrinkles) and also firms up the skin to make it look more plump and awake. The beautiful thing about this one is that is helps to prevent future damage to your skin. Always thinks ahead, Kiehl's!
Often times people ask me if I use a "pimple cream" and I've found the perfect product for this. The Kate Somerville eradikate acne treatment works so well if you feel a pimple coming on, or if it's already a giant mountain on your face. I take a cotton swab, dip it into the bottle and get a little liquid and a little pink of the pink formula, and then just dab on the problem areas at night (always scares my boyfriend, HA!) I wake up the next morning with the pimple significantly reduced, and in some cases if it was small, completely gone! Not only does it work well, but it also doesn't burn or sting. Just make sure you're not applying on an open pimple.
My favorite makeup removing wipes have been from e.l.f. because they are so incredibly gentle, yet effective. Lots of makeup cleansing clothes make my face burn, especially around my eyes. This one is just so gentle, and removes the makeup quickly while also having a very nice moisturizing sensation to it.
Natural Joe has been my favorite for years. If you've been around these parts for a while, you'll know that I've mentioned their scrub over and over again. It's not surprise it's in this skin care favorites, because it is the best body scrub I've ever tried and it leaves my skin feeling so moisturized and smooth. It has nine all-natural ingredients including Himalayan pink salt, brown sugar, organic coconut oil, grapeseed oil, almond oil, and jasmine essential oil. This entire concoction is the best possible exfoliation for my entire body, and it's safe for my face too!
Nourish Organic is also no stranger to my blog, as I raved about several products in my summer skin care favorites. This argan and rose cleanser is so gentle, and I love how it foams up in my hands as I gently run my fingers in circular motions to cleanse the skin. It really makes my skin feel clean, and I can feel the cleanser getting the dirt and oil off my face!
Clean and Clear morning burst cleanser has been a favorite cleanser since this summer, and the most memorable thing about it is the scent alongside the beads inside the bottle. Usually cleansers with a pleasant scent make my skin freak out, but this one is so gentle that it has only helped to improve my skin's texture. Also the beads burst as you run your hands over your skin, which is a really nice sensation.
When you're looking for something to bring you back from the dead...or maybe just a really late night spent drinking, the Colleen Rothschild extreme recovery cream has got you covered. This is a thick and heavy cream to help you soothe seriously dehydrated, or cracked skin. If you have a late night, I recommend slapping this on your face and in the morning, you'll wake up and no one will know you only got 2 hours of sleep. I don't recommend using this every single day, because it is such a thick cream and could be moisture overload for your skin type. It is, however, the perfect solution for skin that needs serious moisture help during these cold months!
Last, but not least, The Body Shop created the most incredible charcoal mask known to man. I just raved on and on about this in my best of beauty for 2016 video (coming soon!), because I can't believe I haven't mentioned this mask on my social media yet. I told all my family and friends, but no one online and you care about my skin care choices! Not only does this suck all the oil, dirt, and grime out of my skin, but it is truly amazing when it comes to significantly reducing pimples overnight and also making them disappear. It helps plump up the skin, and of course, makes it incredibly smooth due to the exfoliation part of the mask. If there's anything you take away from my post, it should be this hidden gem. Do your skin a favor, and get yourself this mask!
