If you follow me on Snapchat (username is 'Adaleta') then you know how excited I was when I got a beautiful Dior box sent to me last week. I couldn't open the box for a few days because I had to enjoy it.
The next generation of of Rouge Dior lipstick is fantastic. This collection had satin to matte finishes, all of which are highly pigmented and super comfortable to wear. They retail for $35 and you can snag your favorite shades at Sephora.
My favorite, absolute favorite, element to this collection is the fact that these lipsticks are so incredibly comfortable. The matte ones are the most comfortable formula I've ever put on my lips. While the comfort would usually mean that the lipstick is not long-lasting, this formula defies the norm. They've got a lot of wear on them, and stick around for quite some time. Peter Philips designed these to last for sixteen (16) hours.
"I created this Rouge Dior collection so women can choose and change shades to express themselves." - Peter Philips
I love the idea behind this, because I have different moods and feelings. Being able to express myself with lipstick is one of the most incredible things, and I cannot tell you how incredible it is to have a shade for every expression I feel like sharing. You're going to see more looks from me using these beautiful colors, get ready for it.
There's a total of fifty (50) couture shades to choose from, so there will 100% be something for everyone. Something new to the collection too: fifteen (15) pure mattes. What, what!
The satin shades are light on the lips and extremely creamy. The colors range from natural nudes to pretty pinks, to some passionate corals and finally to legendary reds. When it comes to the matte shades, there's twelve (12) shades ranging from nude all the way to a deep purple. There's four extreme matte shades and I am so excited to do an intense look using one of those shades. Finally, there's two (2) pastel matte shades that are just so beautiful. They'll be perfect for the spring time, or a pretty girly look.
The ingredients are amazing, and some of the best. This one is made with hydrating mango butter and aroelat samphira which help give the lipstick a bit of revitalizing power. There's also hyaluronic acid which helps with the filling properties. One of the most amazing things I noticed is that if there's any unevenness on my lips, this formula fills in really well. Lastly, the Decox gives a volumizing effect and if you know anything about me, volumizing is one of my favorite words.
The packaging is amazing, and is now encased in a metallic couture case that’s crafted with secret detail. For a touch of luxury that is so reminiscent of Dior, the inside of each cap has a beautiful new interior in the Rouge 999 shade, which is Dior's extravagantly sexy signature. When you hold this lipstick, it's like holding a beautiful piece of history and luxury.
While I've always believed you can get a high quality lipstick from the drugstore, I have never tried anything like this magical formula before. Drugstore or high-end. While I am heart-eyed with this collection, it is because of the incredible quality that's blown me away.
