My story is a little
different from others, but that’s the incredible thing about us. We all come
from different places, and have different thinking, interest, loves, you name
it. I’m originally from Bosnia, and we came to the US as refugees due to all
the troubles going on in the early 90s. I lived in Philly for a few years as a
family housed us in their home, before my dad was able to get a full-time job
and move us into our own home. After a few years in Philly, we moved to Los
Angeles (city of Angels) and that’s where I would say I grew up. I ended up
moving to Tucson, Arizona because I wanted to go to the University of Arizona.
After graduating, I stayed. That is my “life story” in under 60 seconds.
While that may sound
interesting, there’s been a lot of struggle, a lot of grief, anxiety and
sadness along the way. I still struggle with some of my emotions every single
day, but everything I’ve experienced up until this point in my life, has built
me to be the person I am now.
When I think about one word
to describe me, I would say I’m bold. I’m bold at my day job, letting my
clients know I care about them and enjoy hearing their voice, but I’m also bold
in the blogosphere being sassy and telling you that bloggers should not work
for free. I like to talk about topics that may make others uncomfortable,
because we need to talk about those things. I’d say the best thing that makes
me bold is my candidness with people. I trust people with my feelings and thoughts.
Most months involve me
hopping on a plane at least twice, traveling for 3+ days each trip. I also have
to maintain my blog, YouTube channel and multiple social media networks. Not to
mention I have a relationship, and friendships that I have to keep up with it.
For years, I’m been trying to pave my future path and figure out how to be more
efficient with my time. While I haven’t been able to find the magical unicorn
solution of how to get through everything I want to get through, I have a few
tips that will help you become a little more efficient.
I speak my mind, I am fairly
blunt, and I try to make the most of any and all time I have in the day.
1.
Drink good coffee.
Coffee is the start of every
single day of my life… as it is for most people. I love the shirts and cups
that say “don’t talk to me before my first cup of coffee” because that’s how I
feel. I need that caffeine before I can start tackling the day!
I started drinking Dunkin’
Dark® coffee and I will say this is #BrewedfortheBold without a doubt.
Not only is this dark roast
cost-effective, it’s also available in grocery stories nationwide in NEW K-Cup® Pods (10-ct or 16-ct) and new packaging for the
11-oz. and 18.4-oz bags of ground coffee. Dunkin’ Dark® coffee contains 30% Rainforest Alliance Certified™ coffee!
Rainforest Alliance is an international
nonprofit organization that works around the world to conserve forests and
natural resources while advancing sustainable livelihoods. Rainforest
Alliance collaborates with foresters, farmers, businesses and workers to build
healthy communities, protect habitat, and rebalance the Earth, working towards
the vision of a world where planet and people prosper together. By
choosing this 30% Rainforest Alliance Certified™ coffee, we are directly
supporting our Rainforest Alliance.
Dunkin’ Donuts® partnered with Becky Hammon - a bold, adventurous and strong fan of Dunkin’ Dark® coffee. She is the first female assistant coach in the history of men’s professional basketball. Check out her video here.
2.
Prep the night before.
I always feel infinitely
better if I set things out for myself the night before. I like to get my coffee
ingredients ready, and make sure everything (coffee, sugar, cups, water, etc.)
is ready for me. That way, when I wake up, I just roll right into it and make
the coffee quickly. Rather than scrambling around half awake, I instead just
start making coffee right when I get up. I also try to prep the snacks so my lunch
is easier to get together in the morning. I also like to set out my outfit for
the next day, so I can just put my clothes on and move on. Prepping the night
before also makes me feel so much better in terms of preparedness and just how
my day flows!
3.
Speak your mind.
Often times, I’m faced with
scenarios where people beat around the bush, and just won’t get to the point.
In order to be more efficient, you would best be served speaking your mind the
first time and not exaggerating the length of a conversation.
Now that you’ve heard some of
the ways I’m more efficient, I would love to hear from you. What type of coffee
do you drink? How
do you stay bold in your daily routine?
