If you've read some of my recent travel posts, you already have a good idea of what I typically share, but I enjoy recommending things to do in the destination, and adding some travel tips for international travel; that way you know what to expect in a new country. If you like to see these things in the moment, add me on Snapchat (username is 'Adaleta'). I also keep up with up with Insta too. Now, let's get into some activities you can partake in Surf City!
Walk along the beach. I mean this is a no-brainer, and was one of the first things I did upon arrival. It was relaxing and really nice to just walk along the beach and take some photos. I did some thinking, and I always find that sitting on the beach and letting the waves roll in is one of the best therapies. People who live by an ocean like this are so incredibly lucky!
Get to the pier. It's so nice to walk along the beach and see the pier from underneath, then explore the entire pier area. There's so many shops, delicious restaurants and so much to do in this little strip.
Shop at Pacific City. This is a brand new shopping center that is amazing. Put a Francesca's, Irene's Story and Sephora in one shopping area and I am golden for life. Seriously, three of my all time favorite stores in one place. Almost good to be true.
I had a freak accident where I dropped by phone while shopping. It shattered. I cried. Then went to replace it at a store. After all of that excitement, I had to find some food.
Eat a burger and beer. After the heart ache of throwing my money away on the same phone, I went back to Pacific City and stopped by Simmzy's.

Mama's on 39. It's mandatory to have a Bloody Mary, and a delicious breakfast at Mama's. They make gigantic 32 ounce Bloody Marys, but we opted for the smaller ones since we actually wanted to be functional throughout the day ;) We enjoyed ourselves, the food was excellent, the service divine and we had a overall nice experience.
Pasea Hotel and Spa. This is where we stayed, and I can't recommend it enough. In terms of the beauty of the property, the friendliness of the staff and overall experience, I was really blown away. This is a wonderful property, and when I turned the TV on it said "Welcome Adaleta Avdic" which indeed made me feel so welcome. It's the little things, am I right? You also have the option to connect your phone to the TV in the room, which is really nice, and allowed me to watch some YouTube videos right on the big screen. The property was only three weeks old when we stayed there, and it was so nice to stay in a brand new place. Because I frequent Huntington, I was really excited for this property to open and it's a real gem. The artwork is awesome with features from affluent Instagrammers like Gray Malin, modern art and much more.
Enjoy cocktails outside.
Watch a sunset.
My coworker was taking pictures of me taking pictures of the birds. Inception at its finest ;)
Electric bike it down the strand. This was one of my favorite activities throughout the trip. I had never ridden on an electric bike before, but it sure puts to shame the idea of biking on my own now. We grabbed our bikes from Pedego. Of course I had to go with the pink one because it matched my outfit, duuh!
Surf. Another no-brainer in my opinion, but rent a wetsuit and get out there! We went to a local hotel property to find Toes on the Nose. The instructors were great and really helped us out there, but the waves were six feet tall and we definitely struggled getting out far enough to try to catch some waves. I stood up a couple of times, but every time I stood up my feet were too far back and I fell off backwards. Imagine me snapchatting during that. It would've been hilarious.
We had a quick lunch after surfing, before our next incredible activity.
Horseback riding. I had never been on a horse before, so this was a really cool experience. I do feel bad for the horses because it was so hot and they were breathing hard with our fat asses on them, but they were in such good spirits. My guy, Dusty, was a sweetheart and he was having a good time. We went to the Huntington Beach Equestrian Center for the lesson. The staff was friendly, and really made us all feel comfortable. One of the horses was feeling frisky and wanted to race up hill, but the trainers with us handled the situation with grace.
We stopped for a beer at a local brew spot, and I went for the IPA because that's always my fave.
Sandy's and Duke's. Two of the top restaurants we had an opportunity to check out. They're both located on the pier, one above the other, and I cannot recommend them enough. They have some of the best views of the ocean, excellent drinks and phenomenal food.
The last evening, we ended the trip with an incredible trip to Sandy's (my mouth is watering just seeing the steak shot below.)
Eat lots of ice cream. You'll need this to cool off. We ended the last evening in Huntington Beach with some delicious ice cream before sharing some wine at the hotel pool.
It was such an amazing trip and one I am so fortunate to have been a part of. None of this would have been possible without the kindness and generosity of the Visit Huntington Beach team.
