Several months ago, I was having serious hair problems. The dandruff was out of control and quite upsetting because I thought I was doing all the right things. The problem was that I didn’t have the easiest time seeing the dandruff, and that's because it was in the back of my head. My boyfriend would have to tell me, which would usually be too late because I was out in the town or at work. Being a beauty blogger, I was mortified when I’d snap a picture of the back of my head and just see white flakes throughout my hair. Since I live in Arizona, it’s a very dry heat and my scalp is really susceptible to being overly dry in the summer (especially) but also in the winter. At that time, I had tried so many different products. I asked multiple stylists, different salons and nothing anyone recommended worked for me. When I went to see my usual stylist at Studio 110, she told me that Pureology is an amazing option for shampoo and conditioner, and she said it would help my hair’s health overnight. She never mentioned it would cure my dandruff, but she said that it was a good start to a healthier scalp and healthier hair.
At that point, I was desperate to find something that would stop drying my scalp out. I didn’t care how much it cost or how far it had to be shipped. I just needed it in my life to give it one last ditch effort to fix the poor health of my hair and scalp. The specific line recommended to me was the hydrate line, due to the fact that my hair needed serious moisture and nourishment.
The cost of the 8.5 ounce size shampoo is $28 and the cost of the 8 ounce size conditioner is $30 if you shop at Ulta. This line of Pureology can gently cleanse the hair without stripping the color that was applied, which was a big deal to me since I had gotten my hair dyed. It's a thicker shampoo and has a lot of moisturizing power. The ZeroSulfate formula and the exclusive AntiFadeComplex both make this shampoo so dreamy to lather into the hair and they immediately start hydrating. While the smell gives a nice luxurious experience, I do not feel that the product is overpriced. It is more pricey than your standard drugstore shampoo, but the quality is truly there with Pureology.
This hydra whip comes in a 5.2 ounce jar container for $50, but it's an incredible hair mask. Unlike anything I've ever used before. Use of this gives many benefits including intense moisture (even beyond the shampoo and conditioner duo.) It will help make the hair more manageable over time by detangling, improving moisture content and giving that soft and shiny feel. It makes sense that it's so incredible because the key ingredients include avocado, shea, jojoba and mango butters.
It was the best hair decision I ever made. Keep in mind that while this shampoo is not marketed as a dandruff shampoo, it got rid of this problem in just a few days. It cleared my dandruff, made my hair shinier and brought it back to life (as cheesy as that sounds.) I am so glad I was recommended the brand because it’s changed my hair health and gives me one less thing to worry about when it comes to getting ready every day.
Have you tried Pureology before? What's your haircare brand of choice?
