Testing the Waters with Burberry

I've had my eye on some Burberry eyeshadows for quite some time and I finally decided to bite the bullet and make a few purchases. If you watched my Berlin vlog, you know I was on a mission to find the Burberry store, even though the WiFi wasn't working so well.

The eyeshadow I'd been lusting for months was the Burberry Eye Colour - Wet and Dry Glow Shadow Nude No. 002. It's $29 and is creamy, pigmented and glides on easily. It's long lasting when you apply primer and I'm a big fan of the pigmentation. If you use it wet, it looks even more pigmented and has a foiled effect which is my favorite eye look of all.

The highlighter grew on me over a few days because initially I did not care for it, but as I learned to use it better it became a favorite. The most expensive item in this haul, retailing at $68 (insanity) because I decided to grab it after hearing a few beauty girls talking about it in great detail. This is the Spring/Summer 2016 Runway Palette and I got the whitest one because I found it the prettiest. Because I'm so pale, the paler highlighters look best on me. The packaging is beautiful with a beautiful pattern in the pan and the color suits my skin well. Originally the highlighter is light and nonchalant, but you can really work it to a higher intensity which is a the reason I'm such a big fan. You can use as little or as much to build intensity easily, which makes it the perfect all around highlight.

Because I'm a big fan of gold, I had to grab the Burberry Beauty Eye Colour Cream - No. 100 Gold Copper. These retail for $30. These are not really pigmented, but they are beautiful shades. When I dipped my finger in the pot, I absolutely loved the color payoff. After applying to a brush, I quickly realized the color payoff was just not up to par with what I had in mind when I dipped my finger in so I wasn't 100% pleased with the formulation of these. While they can be used wet or dry, they are not as pigmented as the eye colours I mentioned above (weird I know) but they are a totally different formula it seems.

The BB cream was my favorite product, as well as a last minute purchase that sounded too good to pass up at the time. Retailing at $44 it definitely came with a higher price tag, especially for a beauty balm which is known for fairly low natural coverage.  I like the natural coverage it gives me as it covers the redness and makes my skin looks flawless and hydrates the dry patches. However, the formula is sticky and anytime my hair blows it gets caught on my face and then gets greasy quickly because it's getting caught in the formula. Super sexy, right?
