Isla Mujeres | Cancun Travel Diaries

If you visit the Cancun area (i.e. Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Tulum) you must absolutely make time to visit Isla Mujeres. Luckily, ferries to the island should be fairly easy to find. Hop on the ferry and make a day out of your visit. I would recommend getting either a golf cart or a scooter because, although the island is small, you won't want to walk after ten minutes with the humidity and heat. Make sure to arrive early so you can get your hands on a golf cart or scooter. The island may run out before 10 AM.

Once you arrive to the island, you will need to order a drink in a coconut. Just do it. You can thank me later because it's the coolest experience. Having a pina colada in a coconut has been on my bucket list for years. Glad to check that one off ;)

After riding around the island, we ended up on a private beach. It was fairly quiet and definitely not crowded, which was nice. I walked all the way to the end of the mini pier to get some shots of the water.

It's necessary to dip your feet into the beautiful water. If you're super adventurous, just jump right in!

The best part of the island is the calm and relaxing vibe. The waves lap gently onto the shore. Everyone's got a carefree attitude. The smell of Coronas and salt enter the nostrils. Pure bliss honestly.

If Isla Mujeres was not on your travel list, you must add it. If you're going to the Cancun area, it's a no brainer but I would add the island all on its own. It was truly my favorite part of our two week stay in Mexico. Unbelievably beautiful. I wanted to let the pictures do most of the talking here, if you couldn't tell. If you have any questions, make sure to leave them down in the comments below.
