My boyfriend and I have had a strong initiative to get fit for our trip this holiday season. The working out thing...well let's just say it's definitely more serious than our previous attempts because this has an end goal. I don't want to be out of shape and uncomfortable around our friends in a few months.
Luckily for me, my friend Amanda from The Miller Affect, introduced me to Sweaty Betty. It is a London based company that sells stylish workout clothing. The clothing is also broken out into activity, which is really neat. If you think about it, that's really the way it should be because 'the girls' will need more support when running, rather than yoga (one example.)
I think it's important for me to tell you that I am athletic and have been most of my life, until recently. We all know the motivation starts to die down when you're in a relationship, working 100+ hour weeks between jobs, and doing all the social life stuff. Don't be fooled by my facade as I used to run 10+ miles a DAY...yes A DAY when I was on the cross country team in high school. I also ran track, played volleyball, took hapkido classes for 8+ years and a few other things. The point is, I know work out attire like the back of my hand. Or so I thought I did. Until I tried Sweaty Betty.
The Boyfriend Run Tee is the most comfortable workout shirt I've ever worn in my life. The back of the shirt has fabric (clearly) but it is open so the air flow isn't cut off while you're running, playing tennis or just rocking the shirt outside. I also like this because it gives your entire workout outfit a nice touch because you can see the cute sports bra underneath. The shirt also lets you do any type of movement, like lift your arms high up, do hundreds of sit-ups and there's just no limitations and no discomfort no matter what the movement is. Some shirts I've worn in the past are tight in my arms and I have trouble lifting weights or a tennis racquet for instance.
Now, when it comes to holding the girls up and giving them enough support, I have to admit most sports bras have always failed. There's always discomfort or I have to slow down my movement to accommodate...not sure if this is TMI or what but hang with me here. This ultra run bra is so supportive and the bra is made in a way that the sweat isn't just piling inside the bra. Again, the fabric allows your body to breathe.
Lastly, the challenge run shorts... now let's be honest, are these not the cutest shorts you've ever seen? Especially for working out? These shorts alone make me want to run a few miles. The most comfortable part is that the band is elastic, the inside has a pair of undies just in case you forget yours somewhere :-P (just kidding, please please don't forget your undies!)
Of course I've got my Nikes on and the neon orange works well with the shorts. The sunnies I'm rocking are from Nectar because I know you're a curious bee.
