After we had some breakfast, we were off!
Our first stop was the Dunkin Donuts Center, which was really cool to see during no specific event.
The operations team is able to make this hockey rink a basketball court within hours. That's unbelievable but our guide was explaining their process which is just amazing!
This is the super official room for family of players, coaches, etc.
We walked out of the center and went a few blocks, arriving at a super classy boutique hotel.
The Dean Hotel is my kind of hotel. Even their website shows how awesome they are so check it out here. The decorations were gorgeous and everything was so well thought out. P.S. Obama's daughter stayed in the hotel a few days before we arrived. The staff was not supposed to speak of it UNTIL she was gone so the local press was not aware until after her departure. That is definitely some notoriety for the hotel.
Just me and J chillin' |
We call ourselves the "A" team. |
There is a true lift that has not been removed; this is the original and it still works! I wanted to try it out, but all of us couldn't fit in there so we took the stairs instead.
All of the rooms have a unique simplicity about them. There is nothing in the room just because. Each item is placed impeccably and it's there for a specific reason (water, snacks, desk, etc.) so it's easy to move through the room. It's super spiffy if you ask me. I was loving every minute of this hotel's tour.
These type of signs can be found on each floor with different messages. Love is....
After that hotel tour, we grabbed some coffees and delicious chocolate from their shop and headed to Federal Hill for a stroll.
During the summer time, this entire walkway is full of tables and chairs from the restaurants and shops. Because we were there beginning of April, it was still a bit chilly and not proper outside-sitting weather. Guess that means I have to go back in the summer time ;)
Federal Hill is known as the "Little Italy" because there's a lot of authentic Italian restaurants and shops.
We ended up at one of the most incredible spots for lunch: Zooma Trattoria. This room is where their very own pasta is made. How cool!
I started lunch off with a homemade chicken noodle soup and let's be honest here, you may be thinking "oh it's just chicken noodle soup." But it's soup like you've never tasted before. It was authentic and just like your grandma makes it. What better kind of soup is there?
I really liked looking out the window from our table so I decided to take a quick snap. It's quite artistic if you ask me. Don't you agree?
Now if you follow me on Instagram, you have seen this picture already. Doesn't this look delicious? This is their very own pasta which is made in the first room I showed you *yum*
After lunch, we went for a bit of a walk (we needed it after all the carbs.)
We found our way to the theatre. Yes, the theatre darrrrling!
We stood in the back, we stood on stage, we sat in chairs. It was very neat.
In the back, each show that comes to town ends up painting a portion of the wall with the show's name and all the actors sign their names. It's amazing how memories are left in the theatre, even years after a show.
After some more walking through the city, we realized we needed an afternoon coffee. You know that 2 PM lull that hits you and you just want to nap? We were attempting to combat that.
Once we got to the coffee, J did a photoshoot (literally) and it took us almost twenty tries to get a good suave picture of me about to sip my coffee. What do you think?
Hi Ada!
ReplyDeleteI've already said that I love to follow your trips trough the amazing pictures. My favorites places are the theatre and the italian restaurant ( obviously haha)
I can't wait to read the next post tomorrow.
