Everyone and their dogs are contouring at the moment.
But seriously. It's incredible how Sephora can tune into the makeup trend and create quite the campaign with all of the new releases. There's so much out there for contouring now! It used to be a lonely contour world with just one true contour kit from Anastasia Beverly Hills. Now the game has changed and many brands have come out or are coming out with their own renditions: palette, creams, sticks - you name it! I think that's super exciting because competition makes all of the products better.
Not only are these products creamy and apply like they dream, they blend beautifully as well! One of the coolest things about this particular set is the contour help document inside that shows how contouring is best done for each face shape. This guide will be very handy for those who don't know too much about contouring or have seen it sparingly. I found it super helpful!
The first step I do is use the contour stick. Because I have a more round face, I typically don't contour the top of the forehead (just the cheeks and temples). The next step is to bronze and for my face shape, this only means a little bronzing on my cheeks (right above where I contoured.) Lastly, I use the highlight stick to make the contour and bronze pop. I highlight right below the contour on my cheek bones, under my eyes, the middle of my forehead, the bridge of my nose, and my chin. Highlighting is my favorite step because I love brightening and pulling the contour together- that's what highlighting really does in my mind. It pulls everything together and makes the look clean and on point. I don't ever skip this step!
If I'm feeling extra wild, I may even contour my nose. Hold on to your seat, people! Wild woman comin' thru ;) Most days I don't because I don't think contouring my nose does much for me.
If you'd like to see these bad boys in action, make sure to check out my last video here.
I just cannot recommend these contour sticks enough- they are a dream.
