New Beauty Launch: Hourglass Modernist Eyeshadow Palette

Hourglass Infinity Eyeshadow Palette
Now you've heard chitter chatter about the new Hourglass modernist palettes, yes?
I actually went into Sephora, saw these palettes during one trip (even swatched them) and left without buying one! *respect*

Although it is the most beautiful palette I have ever seen in my life (seriously) I am still not 100% decided one way or the other about it. I got the 'Infinity' palette which is a mix of five warm neutral shades that are breathtaking. Honestly when I see the palette, my face is legit a heart-eyed emoji.

In terms of pigmentation, these shadows are lovely because they do have high pigmentation. They're long-wearing and stay on the lids with the use of a primer. The colors are gorgeous and this particular palette is also blendable. I did swatch a few different palettes that were not the most blendable so I can understand if there is confusion regarding blend-ability.  However, the one annoying part of this palette no matter which shade it is is the fall-out. After even a quick and gentle pat into the palette, the eyeshadow is everywhere because the formula crumbles easily. During application, the shadow gets under the eyes, on the cheeks and just plain everywhere. As you can imagine, this is quite annoying. Because fall-out is a big part of an eyeshadow's quality to me, I am not letting this palette slide into the best eyeshadow palette slot because it needs to meet all the high standards that my Lorac PRO palette lives up to.

We all know there's going to be a ton of new releases this spring so if I had to guide you one way, I would say keep your pretty pennies for another release coming this spring.

  1. I agree. The palette is beautiful however I feel hourglass is too expensive in general. Great post. Glad I didn't spend my pennies :)
