Norway: Arriving in Oslo

Let me just start this off by thanking you all for supporting my blog and encouraging me to post about my travel to Norway quickly. The support has been overwhelming and I thank you all for a lovely blog-ful year!
Traditional Norwegian Dish, Norwegian Dish, food in Norway, Norway food, what to eat in Oslo, what to eat in Norway
Up above you see a traditional Norwegian dish with fresh smoked salmon, lettuce, cucumbers, lemon and dill with a side of scrambled eggs. This is a standard meal that can be served for breakfast, lunch and dinner. "Open sandwiches" are a typical dish and this means the sandwich doesn't have the second piece of bread on top. It's a single slice of fresh bread topped with the sandwich with no additional slice of bread- I like it a lot because lately I've actually been eating my burgers and sandwiches with only the bottom bread. My European roots are showing ;)
Aegir Microbrewery, beer in Norway, Norwegian beer, Norway beer, what to drink in Oslo, what to drink in Norway
Local Norwegian pale ale from the Ægir MicroBrewery.
Ice Skating Rink in Oslo, Oslo ice rinks, Norway ice rinks, iceskating rinks in Oslo, iceskating rink

After our first dinner at Fyret Mat Og Drikke, we decided to do some exploring and found an ice rink. One of the coolest things about a cold country is that the iceskating rinks are so authentic.

Even though it was cold (especially since we all live in the desert!) I loved walking through Oslo and jumped with excitement at every opportunity we had walking through the streets.

In between our meetings through the week, we had the opportunity to see Oslo from new heights which was absolutely incredible. Just blue skies for miles.

And let's be honest you know me well enough to know that shopping HAD to happen..and Bik Bok was on my list of MUST-DOs. I even dragged my coworker and we both bought a few things.

Now that I've mentioned shopping, I'll leave you here until tomorrow. Happy Christmas Eve!
