Miss Manga versus Better Than Sex Mascara

Let's just say that L'Oreal Miss Manga Voluminous mascara was at war with Too Faced Better than Sex mascara. Which would win?

Let's discuss both a bit to see which you would choose.

L'Oreal Miss Manga Voluminous Mascara costs $7.99. That's a plus if I say so myself.  The packaging is gorgeous. I love the purple and black color choice. Having said that, I think the packaging is beautiful and it's an item I wouldn't mind seeing in the midst of my beauty case. The brush handle is light and allows for simple, quick application to the lashes.

The actual brush is phenomenal; it is made to hit each lash and give it the volume and love it deserves. The brush is also bendable so it's flexible and allows for all sorts of application. It requires at least 3 coats for the full effect so you will be at it for a few minutes, but it's definitely worth it!

Too Faced Better than Sex Mascara is typically $23 (3 times the cost of Miss Manga!) When i first saw this product, I thought the packaging was very cute. It has a naughty name, and comes in a pink bottle. So fetch (as Gretchen Wieners would say!) However, the brush handle is quite heavy and makes it a bit more difficult to apply the mascara. I'm not saying it weighs a pound, but it is the heaviest brush handle I've ever had in the past. Typically they are in plastic tubes (just like Miss Manga) so the weight is comparable. I'm unsure if the weight of the bottle and the handle was part of the product's appeal, but it's not a plus for me.

The first two coats with this mascara really give your lashes that dramatic voluminous intensity that many of us seek. The tough part with this mascara's application is that a 3rd or 4th coat may be way too much product. The brush absorbs as much product from the bottle that it can so you have to be very cautious while applying to make sure you don't end up with a clumpy overwhelming mascara look. I recommend removing excess product before applying.

In comparison to how many beauty brands make mascara, how many beauty brands advertise their mascara, and how many beauty brands constantly create new mascaras, these two are the best I've ever tried (and let's be honest here- I've tried way too many!)

Which will you choose? What's your favorite mascara?
