Time for a Change. 2017 Wishes

This is a close up of me standing at the Pena Palace with some beautiful tile work behind me. I'm holding my sunglasses and wearing my holiday inspired scarf.

I know lots of people have New Years resolutions...for about a month. Let's face it. We opt to be healthy, and come February we're nose deep in chocolates and cookies.

This is a close-up of beautiful architectural work at the Pena Palace in Sintra Portugal. This displays a brick red door, with beautiful stone leaves built around the door.

These photos were taken at the Pena Palace in Sintra, Portugal.

That's why this year I have decided I'm going to make a couple of wishes or wants (not resolutions mainly because I hate that word - HA!) and plus, wishes are more relaxed and have less stress associated to them.

I wish to be more positive. All around. I want to see the good in situations. Whether it's my day job, or my blog and the blogging community, I want to see the positive side of things. Remember how I preach perspective all the time? If you change your perspective, you'll change your world. Well I want to change my perspective, and my attitude.

I wish to eat better, and try to incorporate more of a whole foods diet. If you're following along on Insta Stories, you know that I have been juicing every single day since January 1st. There will be days when I just can't get to it, but I want to continue juicing for the entire year. It's so good for the body, and I've seen DRASTIC improvements in my hair (less dandruff issues) my nails (they're so much softer and shinier) and even my skin (the acne has disappeared.) Now I'm not doing a juice fast. I'm just incorporating a juice into my diet every day, and the plan will be to do this as often as we can. So far so good + we got a new juicer that is a slow presser which means we will get the absolute maximum amount of nutrients from juicing in comparison to our old juicer. While I'll never cut out meat (let's be honest, I'm steak eater #1 here!) I want to eat less meat in general. Not every meal and not every day.

I wish to be on my phone less, and in the world more. This one is something I feel every blogger says but doesn't really mean. I've realized that my social media frenzy has pushed people away. Just because someone doesn't follow me on Instagram doesn't mean they dislike me or are not worthy of being my friend. My priorities simply don't align with theirs. I can't judge someone I'm friends with in real life, for not being a follower in a social media world. Sure, social media is very important to me and makes a big difference when it comes time to get paid by brands, but it's not the end all be all. I also want to live in the moment more. Often times, I'm catching up on Instagram comments or doing things to increase the growth of my networks, but I need to take time for myself. Do something relaxing and not feverishly clutch my phone.

I wish to blog more. While I just said I want to be off my phone more often, I do want to blog more often and perhaps limit the length. I don't need 10 paragraphs of text in every post. There may be things I want to focus on and share with you this year, and I want to do that even if there's not 20 photos or 10 paragraphs of text about it. If you have specific topics, products, travel destinations, or anything you'd like me to write about, please let me know in the comments. I love making the content I want to make, but your thoughts may be in line with something I've been thinking about too so definitely share that with me.

I wish to save as much money as possible, but also buy nice things. Saying "nice things" always reminds me of the phrase "this is why we can't have nice things!" when a brand new white couch ends up with red wine all over it, or someone breaks something. Always makes me laugh. This one is simple. I want to save more $$ (who doesn't??) but I also want to invest in a few pieces this year. I've been eyeing several bags and shoes for quite some time, and I want to be able to bring some thangs into my collection. I wish to make more of a revenue from my blog and try to engage in investment, using companies like Glenmore Investments.  Stay tuned!
