How to Manage Stress

This is a close up of the Rescue Pastilles, which help to destress naturally.

I’m so glad to finally be sharing this post with you. I’ve been alluding to it for quite some time because stress is such a big topic for me.

I’m stressed very often throughout every single day, and have been for most of my life. Since I came to the US, I have busted my butt because I want to be successful and earn a living for myself. When you come from nothing, (I migrated to the US out of war-torn Bosnia with a teddy bear and a book that taught me the alphabet) you realize what you need to do to make your life what you want it to be. In a wonderful country like America, you have so much opportunity and I seized the day, worked hard and am now doing the full-time corporate career, but also managing a successful (well I like to think so) blog, social networks and a YouTube channel. It’s a lot working two full-time jobs, especially since I want to be successful in both.

This post is sponsored by Rescue. As always, all opinions and thoughts are always honest and always my own.

Back in September, I started having nightmares, slight anxiety attacks and just sheer anxiety throughout the day because the stress was literally making my hair fall out. Everyone is busy, I get it, but my stress levels were beyond high.

Besides hiring a virtual assistant, and outsourcing some of my admin blog related tasks, I was approached with the opportunity to try Rescue Remedy and other Rescue Products to see if my stress would be reduced with their products. I can’t tell you how excited I was to try it out given the place I was in my life, because when you get to a certain stressed point, you will try anything.

The best part about all these products is that they are all natural, with no artificial flavors.
The Rescue Pastilles are a candy form and they’re the easiest for me to consume during the day, without having to explain myself to anyone. It’s just a candy, so it definitely makes things easy, and if you feel like sharing, you can easily share in case your coworker could use a bit of a destressor (heck, they likely NEED it!)

The Rescue Remedy Spray is a nice addition for at home. It helps me consume in a different way, since the candies are the way I prefer to consume while I’m out and about. The spray is really easy, and has a more direct and effective boost.

If you know me personally, you know that I’ve been a big proponent of melatonin for quite some time. It’s a natural sleep-inducer, so I’m more open to taking a little melatonin if I’m having trouble sleeping.  This Rescue Plus Sleep Melatonin, made in a gummy formula is divine. Not only does it taste amazing, but it works quickly and does not make me feel groggy the next morning.

Now, let’s dive into the five best ways I deal with stress.

1.Take a deep breath. This is super cliché, but taking a few deep breaths help me calm down my heart, which is likely racing.

2. Think about perspective. Why am I stressed out? Is this something that matters in the long-term? Likely not, because most things do not require much stress. When I think through things a little more logically, it helps me move on more quickly from the stressful thoughts.

3. Pop one of the Rescue Pastilles. These work quickly, and even just keeping the lemon taste in my mouth is helpful.

4. Think happy thoughts. Usually when I feel stressed, it’s because I have a post due and I have a presentation due at work. It’s hard to prioritize, but I think the end goal is that I will kick ass at both and thinking about that end goal makes me so happy that the work beforehand is 150% worth it.

5. Plan ahead. Most of my stress has to do with having so much to do, and because I don’t have a proper schedule in place. If I planned my blog posts and presentations just a bit more, that would cut down on my worrying and stress quite a bit.

I know most of us experience stress, so I’d love to know what your advice is and how you managed it on a day to day level, and also on a larger scale. What helps you the most?
