I remember the first time I saw a Jo Malone stand in Boston, during one of my travels, and I was so excited I literally spent hundreds of dollars. Realistically though, a couple hundred dollars is only a few things because the brand does come with a luxury cost.
If you were not aware, Jo Malone is owned by Estee Lauder (acquired in 1999) so the company is well known, particularly in the UK. In fact, the first time I heard of Jo was from a London beauty girl and I knew I had to try it. There's something so incredibly alluring, luxurious and unique about Jo.
My favorite has been vanilla and anise for the past two years, and all of the colognes are truly incredible. They're long-lasting. Their newest, limited edition scent is called nashi blossom and it is marvelous. It's got a petal pop that really brings flowers to mind. It has a crisp sweet and tangy scent, that is strongest upon spritz and then settles nicely into the skin. There's the nashi blossom, with a hint of rose and even a little bit of musk. It's fun, reminds me of the spring and summer time, and I just love how unique it is to the rest of the collection. This scent is unlike any of the others, and trust me, I've done some serious sniffing of all their scents.
There are three very distinct notes. The top is lemon, the second the nashi blossom and the third is the white musk. The combination of the three makes for a multi-dimensional delicious exhilarating mix. For 30 mL, you pay $70 and for 100 mL you pay $130. The larger size is more cost-efficient, but if you don't love the scent upon first try I would recommend a smaller size of it so you can get acquainted.
If you're unfamiliar with Jo, the concept is that you can mix and match the fragrances with one another. The nashi blossom works well when layered with nectarine blossom and honey for a fruity floral or with dark amber and ginger lily for a more woody floral approach. I am a huge fan of amber and woody scents so the latter is the perfect option for me.
I encourage you to stop at the Jo Malone counter the next time you go to a department store. Just take a whiff of a few scents. You will be smitten, just like I was. Have you had a chance to experience this new nashi blossom scent?
