Scrub a Dub Dub

After this post, I'm certain you will want to try all of these life changing scrubs.

If you've been around my blog for a few months, you'll know I'm a big lover and believer of JoeScrub. There's infinite amounts of scrubs that claim to be life-changing and promise to make your boobs bigger and your waist skinnier, but let's be real...some of those benefits are complete crap. I prefer to tune out the garbage and focus on brands I know, trust and love. When I first tried Joe in July of last year, I claimed it was the baddest scrub in the game. Why did I phrase it that way? At least I didn't say "the realest" because then I would be even more embarrassed looking back on the verbiage. I'm not Nicki Minaj. Regardless of the phrasing, I still stand by that statement wholeheartedly. JoeScrub was even part of my 2015 skincare favorites! Lots of consistent love for this brand without a doubt.

Recently things got even better because Joe decided to make... *drumroll please*... face masks! I want to dive into the details of two, the matcha and the charcoal. Grab a cup of something delicious and let's get started!

The Matcha scrub is hands down incredible, with so many benefits I can barely name them all. This is a detoxifying sugar scrub that will help boost your spirit and concentration through the seven (7) ingredients that it's comprised of. I use this mask twice a week to get the best results and three times a week during periods where my skin is really not wanting to cooperate with me.

The matcha breakdown
Organic matcha green tea powder provides antioxidants for detoxification and for combating bacteria and inflammation. Organic cane sugar exfoliates skin, buffs away dead skin cells and helps fine lines and wrinkles. Shea butter moisturizes skin while protecting the natural oils, which are extremely important to your skin's balance. Apricot kernel oil hydrates while Vitamin A and E oils help promote skin cell regeneration. Organic coconut oil has a soothing nature and leaves skin with an even tone, closed pores and a baby soft texture. Yes pleaseCalendula oil carries anti-inflammatory properties that are helpful with acne, eczema and related skin conditions so this scrub is excellent for normal or troubled skin. Win! Sandalwood essential oil leaves skin moisturized while also stimulating concentration.

Quite the breakdown, no? I think the easier question is what can't this scrub do, and clearly it does everything you'd need a good regular scrub to do. I'm super impressed and I love the way the oils moisturize my skin, while also exfoliating and cleansing. It's really a lovely spa experience. My skin was so dry and dehydrated and after one use, my skin was brought back to life.
Now I've used the charcoal scrub less frequently because I use it when I'm wanting to extract the bad from my skin. The charcoal scrub is a detoxifying sugar face scrub that helps to heal skin, relieve stress and stimulate + improve productivity. This one has eight (8) ingredients which means even more benefits.

The charcoal breakdown
The activated charcoal draws out impurities, tightens pores and smooths the skin. This is one of the reasons I use this on a need to use basis. The organic cane sugar exfoliates skin, buffs away dead skin cells and helps with fine lines and wrinkles. Organic chamomile heals skin with anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, anti-irritant and anti-fungal compounds. Wow, say those benefits three times fast! Shea butter doing it's normal thang by nourishing and moisturizing the skin while protecting the skin's natural oils. Castor oil deep cleanses pores and erases scar tissue while restoring skin hydration and promoting skin cell growth. Organic coconut oil has a soothing nature that combines with the grainy, exfoliating sugar perfectly, and leaves skin with an even tone, closed pores and a baby soft texture. Lavender essential oil carries a calming scent that relieves stress while brightening the skin by improving blood circulation. Rosemary essential oil tightens and lightens blemishes on the skin while acting as a mood enhancer and improving mental clarity.

You can get 50g of the original JoeScrub (read about my review of the OG scrub here) 50g of the Matcha Scrub and 50g of the Charcoal Scrub within the Weekender (sweet name for an adventurer ;) If you sign up for Joe's newsletter, you'll get some $ off and who doesn't want a discount?
