Will you just take a look at this pretty little thang?
Let's dive in to the nitty gritty. The packaging is phenomenal with the rose gold 'Stila' imprint on the front. It's a compact package so you can easily travel with it and plop it into a makeup bag. This specific version of the palette (as there are four different combos) is much more on the earthy side, with neutral browns and warm shades.
The formula itself is described as long-lasting, which I would venture to say it is for people who tend to not be too terribly oily. Since I have extremely oily eyelids, the shadow doesn't always stick throughout the day (yes- I wear an eye primer as well.) Oily for life!
Pigmentation is nice, but not that deep heavy pigmentation that you would find with Makeup Forever or Morphe shadows. It's more in the middle- not NOT pigmented but also not overly pigmented. I prefer high over the top pigmentation because those products tend to stay around for a lot longer since you really only need to dip your brush in very gently.
Wet or dry? I would recommend not using many of these wet, especially the more matte flat shades. I tried this with the lighter brown and it's permanently stained that shadow and it's harder for me to dip my brush in there and get product. It appears the dampness on those matte colors will harden the surface and not allow for easier usage later on.
This palette retails for $49, but I used a 20% at Beauty Brands so I paid closer to $40. When you consider the regular cost per eyeshadow, you're looking at about $4 a shadow. I would say that's reasonably priced but the overall quality, pigmentation and wearability of the shadows may not be worth it for some. I'm glad I have the palette, but it is 100% one I could live without.
